The composer John Fernström (see johnfernstrom.com) was not only a very productive composer and painter. With great energy and knowledge he also created an extensive collection of stamps. The collection covers stamps from all over the world, with some focus on the Nordic countries, Germany, the British Commonwealth and China (Fernström was born in China and kept a life-long interest in the Chinese culture). In total, the collection comprises about 45 volumes and extends until his death 1961.
